Many therapists get into the profession because they've had some untoward experiences themselves.
And they want to be helpful as a result to other persons who may be facing similar circumstances.
So you can rest assured, Google any of us, you're going to find something that you don't like.
That's a structural problem.
That's typically reserved for psychiatrists.

You know, a good termination, a good therapeutic ending actually starts at the point of engagement.
So when we first meet with a client, we have to signal, depending on your model of working, but certainly in mine, we're not going to be working together for often.
Here's how long I typically see people.
So that we're already planting the seeds that this is a time-limited journey together.
When a person has met their goals, whether the person sees that or the therapist sees that,
then it's time to raise the issue and prepare for that termination.
That can all be done in a single session.
For some folks, it takes a couple of sessions.
depending on their experience of ending relationships.
So we want this experience of ending a relationship to be very positive.
Many of the folks we see do not have that positive experience in their lives.
We want to provide that.
