She says he just drinks it alone watching TV.
And when he gets weird about it, when she confronts him, he says that she gave him permission to drink it.
And then she sent the guy a Venmo request, not for the $120, but for $80, which I guess is a discount.
And then the guy is now calling her tacky and a bad host and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
The woman wants to know, is she a jerk for getting upset about her cat sitter drinking the wine and then Venmo charging him for it?
When I travel for like two weeks, I have a cat sitter and a stranger, especially like a well-qualified stranger that you can trust because they're represented by like a house sitting, you know, company or something.
Those can be hundreds, thousands of dollars.
So yes, completely agree.
My cat sitter, sometimes she helps herself to things and we get a little annoyed when we get back.
For example, my girlfriend loves this one soda water called Topo Chico.
I think
you can get it in Ontario where you live, but it's basically like a punch you in the back of the throat level carbonated soda water.
It's maybe 50 cents more per bottle than the regular kind, but you got to accept, yes, it's annoying, but you're not paying for the cat sitter.
You just hold your tongue.
There's a little wiggle room.
They might have one too many of your frozen chicken dinners in your freezer and it might annoy you, but just bite your tongue.
They are doing you a huge favor, a huge favor.
They're saving you a lot of money to watch your pets.
There is one caveat here, which is like if you specifically tell the cat sitter, the house sitter, like have whatever you want, not that bottle of wine.
Maybe even put a post-it on that bottle saying anything but this.
