The majority, I can't say because I don't know them all, but the 43 recommendations of them, a large portion of them is about preventing the crime.
And that's the way it should be.
There is no excuse for the amount of time it takes and it's just there's not a desire there.
If there was a desire there, as you pointed out, it could have been implemented years ago.
That's right.
On the back of it, it could have been sorted out straight away.
I don't see it as that complicated.
I've been involved in legislation being changed in New South Wales and I understand how difficult it is.
and the efforts that people have got to make, inform legal people looking at, okay, what's the impact of legislation changes?
How's it going to impact?
Is the sky going to fall if we bring this legislation in?
I understand it takes time, but it's possible.
And it only becomes difficult when everyone, not everyone, when people are resisting, making ridiculous comments,
and theorising about what might happen if we – oh, civil liberties.
If we put monitors on people that are breaching – And that's what it is.
So are they – okay.
So if it's political – because I'm still trying to work out why –
why it doesn't serve them.
