And I would refuse to work any other way.
And if you couldn't have access to that, I'd feel that I'd be compromising an athlete by not really understanding what it is we're trying to do.
Exactly.
So that worked really well.
And my windows of opportunity were sometimes small in terms of the group, but I always had some time around the group.
So we did the group stuff, which I call fishing.
and so i'm putting out debate so let's say i have 60 of the players who are coming one to one but there's 40 who aren't for various different reasons don't trust themselves or don't really know how to engage in a conversation such as that and so you put the content out and you draw them in and you go the guy with text and said i was really interested in what you said here i could could you expand on that and we'd have a conversation and we'd build it out from there
So that worked well.
And as you know, 2019, Jim stepped away.
I'd intended to step away anyway.
I think there's a point at which you run out of road and there's a chance for someone else to come into the space.
And I don't like going backwards.
So I felt like it's time to move out.
I did a little bit with Leinster in 17 and 18 and just happened to be in the space when they won the two in a row.
I don't think I had a huge contribution to
that in any way shape or form it was very small uh but but certainly um some early conversations with the playing group and bringing them through some content around the mental game and some conversations with leo uh which i hope they found useful but i wouldn't suggest in any way that i was a big player in that space yeah um could you like so you said you said they're a mindset program
The first thing I felt was important that each individual player had a performance plan, right?
Not one that I designed, but one that you could give them some ideas of what should sit in there, but one then that they crafted and believed in for themselves.
So I think that's the first mental tool is to have a plan.
And within the plan, because you have a schedule for the week in any high performance environment, there's a schedule.
