Right, but like... If they said to him, we really want you to do Elden Ring 2 and here's the financial case for it. Look at these numbers. He's like, yeah, that's great. But I just really, I just have no interest in it. I really don't want to do it. They're not going to say, well, fuck it, you're doing it.
No, I see that.

I mean, has this industry ever had a completely banger, million, like, multi-million seller, commercial slam dunk mega hit that didn't then spawn a sequel?

That's not meant to have a sequel, necessarily. Yeah.

There was always going to be a Spider-Man 2. There was always going to be a Halo 2. There was always going to be a God of War 2, right? Those games don't, you know... They can't be allowed to just, once you've found some success and you've created a hit and a brand that people know, at that point, you could argue it's financially, commercially negligent to not continue to pursue that, right?

There is a Tetris 2. Days Gone, I would argue, wasn't a big enough hit to justify a sequel, even though it's one of those games that's gone on to be more well-liked over time. Yeah. I don't think that's increased the commercial case for it. There probably won't be a Baldur's Gate 4, but again, it's too early to say. Nobody really knows what's going to happen.
