My name's Geoffrey Morgenthaler.
I'm a bartender and author from Portland, Oregon.
I would say my style is primarily based in fun and deliciousness.
Everything we do with our hands and our bodies and our faces, everything we do with our bodies is some sort of flair.
Doing things efficiently and beautifully is the new flair bartending.
I mean, you know, I have always thought of it more of as a craft, which for me is the unattainable goal of perfection, right?
Craft is just doing the same thing over and over and over again, trying to get closer and closer to perfection, knowing that you will never, ever achieve that.
You have to believe in the lie that you'll eventually get there.
But that's really only half the job.
The other half is being present for your guests, aware of everything that's happening in the bar, making people happy, making them feel good, taking care of them.
Yeah, because you get tired of dumping drinks down the sink, right?
i'm so jealous that is my dream job is training actors to do movies because watching a movie where the bartender actor hasn't been trained properly drives me up the wall it is completely insane like yeah yeah there were quite a few spots actually i remember there was on the scene that when the whole action started and
I personally don't like energy drinks and liquor.
I don't think they taste great and I also think they're potentially kind of dangerous to consume that much caffeine with alcohol.
There is a limit on how much I will pay for vodka because at a certain point they are literally almost all the same.
