You know, it doesn't mean you have to be a writer or have to be with that publisher forever.

But that sort of unlocking of your creative time and space for me was really pivotal.

I literally was looking out the window the whole time in maths, one of them.

I just literally never stopped.

I, like, managed to talk my dad round when I was 14 into, like, giving me his, like, acoustic guitar out of the loft or something, you know, something he'd had since he was at school.

And I just sort of started figuring it out on my own.

And I was obsessed, like, the second I realised that I could, like, make up a whole song.

to be convinced that it'd come from me but after that that was it for me I was like in a band with some people from school and I was playing in pubs and local festivals anything I could kind of wrangle us onto the bill for and I mean god it was awful we sounded like a somewhere between like Paramore and Yumi at six if they'd all got in a horrific accident it was really a car crash and um

I think at one point I'd even dyed my hair like Hayley Williams.

I had that like orange and blonde thing going on, which is just let's never let those pictures resurface.

I was troubled and then I was really creative.

It was really like a total switch in my life.

And again, speaking to the importance of like having that outlet, I think.
