So in the first trial, there was a hung jury and that is why they had to put on this second trial.

And in the second trial in June 2025, she was acquitted of second degree murder, manslaughter and leaving the scene causing death.

But she was convicted, no surprises, of drunk driving and she received probation for that.

So what has happened since?

Where's the book?

Where's the movie?

You know, what is next?

Because she it was like nothing I'd ever seen.

You know, the support that she got and people really believed that she was innocent.

And I think as well.

They didn't want a woman to be framed by the police department for something that they feel she didn't do.

So now, of course, because it's America, we're into the civil lawsuits.

Everyone is suing everyone now.

Um, so Karen Reid's lawsuit in November, 2025, she sued Michael Proctor, um, Massachusetts state police investigators, Brian and Nicole Albert, Jennifer and Matthew McCabe and Brian Higgins.

She alleges misconduct, conspiracy and violations of her rights.

So that case was later moved from state court to federal court.

Now, there's a defamation lawsuit against Karen Reid by Jennifer McCabe, Brian Albert, Colin Albert and Brian Higgins.
