The government of the Bank of England has admitted that it faces a difficult decision on interest rates as the Middle East conflict continues to push up prices.
Andrew Bailey dropped big hints that rates could rise, but says they will not rush to make a decision on it.
It comes as the IMF slashed its growth forecast for the UK this year to 0.8%, the biggest downgrade of all G7 nations.
It's a balance, though, isn't it, Simon?
You suppress rising prices by increasing rates, but then you squeeze the economy further, which the IMF says is not doing that great.
Did we need them to say that or did we know it anyway?
