That's got Wall Street investors feeling reassured, but earnings season there is also gathering pace.
So it could be another weekend of monitoring key developments when it comes to the war.
Donald Trump has been out and about this morning, Australian time, suggesting the US might hold discussions with Iran this weekend, again in Pakistan.
He's also been answering some questions from journalists on the latest state of play.
So a reminder the ceasefire with Iran remains in place, that there are only a few days left, though, until its official end.
When asked about whether he planned to extend it,
The US president said he hoped to get a deal soon and that he wasn't sure it needed to be extended.
Trump also saying Iran has agreed to hand over its enriched uranium supply.
Yes, good point.
The ASX 200 futures are pointing to a drop at the open, down 0.2% to 8,962.
So if we're going to have a look at the currencies, they were lower against the US dollar.
The Aussie dollar slipped 0.2% to 71.58 US cents.
The euro was down 0.2% to 1.1780 US dollars.
