So the thing that we're going to have to do is make sure that we're reacting to what he's doing by calling for and I'm talking about the general public calling for a withdrawal from Iran.
We should not be in this war, never should have gotten into this war.
And again, I'm not there's nothing good about the Iranian regime.
And no, he has not changed the regime, despite the fact that he would like to claim.
Yeah, there are a whole lot of things that I think that we ought to be doing nationally that I did here.
Let's start with the number one thing that makes things more affordable, which is raise wages.
Like, you know, there's nothing that makes things more affordable, like putting more dollars in your pocket.
And so here in Illinois, anyway, we raised the minimum wage to fifteen dollars.
It's the highest in the Midwest.
It's what we should at a minimum.
We should be doing that at the federal level.
Our now Democratic nominee for United States Senate, Julianna Stratton, called for a twenty five dollar minimum wage nationally.
So putting more dollars in people's pockets, by the way, making it easier for people to organize, you know, to create a union so they can collectively bargain for their wages.
Because as you're seeing, companies are becoming more powerful and individuals less powerful.
And so we ought to just make it possible for everybody to have a union if they want it.
OK, that's number two.
But those are about wages.
Then there are things like wages.
we've been doing here in illinois which is eliminating medical debt so many people on average people have about two thousand dollars in medical debt a lot of people a whole lot of people and we've eliminated that for 500 000 people in the state of illinois we've eliminated their medical debt didn't cost much by the way for 10 million dollars we were able to eliminate a billion dollars of debt
Now we did that in Cook County and the state of Illinois, $10 million each.
