Obviously, when the game was finished and we were celebrating and then we came into the dressing room and we knew there was something wrong.
The masseur, who was a really good friend of Jock's team, was in tears.
So the boys are thinking, yeah, he's had a heart attack or whatever kind of thing.
But then slowly but surely, the dressing room was very, very quiet.
And then word came in that he'd sadly passed away.
So it was coming from the euphoria of getting to the World Cup finals,
to losing your manager, it was tragic.
And it was a very solemn dressing room after that.
I remember myself, I went back to Birmingham with Andy Gray and we drove back from Cardiff to Birmingham.
And I don't think there was two words said between us.
We were just so much in shock that we'd lost such a great man and a great manager.
It was a big ask for Sir Alex as well.
He was an up-and-coming manager and he was a very, very good manager.
So Alex went in and right away he had the instant respect to the players.
Obviously, the homegrown players, as I said before, they were a little bit frightened of him.
It was different, obviously, we were playing down in England.
We didn't have many dealings with them, but certainly the Scottish boys were really petrified of him.
