And that's why I think to the extent to which that it is possible for us humans to prepare ourselves mentally, emotionally, I think starting to reframe your thinking around, okay, what am I if I'm not...
x the task like the task the x task doer and what could you be like how how do you open your mindset to change and being open to that if that's where all this goes because i do think that there is going to be a at least a short-term reckoning with the job market and maybe we'll get more into this in our prediction episode but but this type of release really puts us in perspective for me it's like at a certain point there will be an economic incentive to
or let's put it this way, there will be labor market ramifications where you now all of a sudden don't have as much work as you had before if you're a freelancer, or it'll be, you can charge less because more people can do the task.
So how do you prepare yourself for that transition?
I think Lumen said something.
What happened to the transition between those who were to follow in their parents' footsteps for working in a trade craft when machines replaced that craft?
What did we do then?
There will be new roles in demand.
Humanity will always find new things to keep busy.
I agree with that.
I think that's true.
But in order for you to accept that and not be like,
thrown out with the bathwater mentally, like say like I'm a TV repairman and that's all I do.
And then when TV repairman jobs go away, you all of a sudden are left adrift with no, no other path.
Yeah, to a degree that's unavoidable.
But I'm just thinking about this, like, how do we prepare ourselves for this with whatever, quote unquote, tasks that we do now?
And how do we position ourselves and think from a personal perspective and also a society perspective on how to get ready for this shift?
I wonder if AI compresses the 10,000 hours that you need to master something.
I mean, certainly it compresses the 10,000 hours you need to do something, but obviously you're not.
Just because you can do something with AI, just because you can code with AI doesn't mean you understand the code.
