I was tired.
I mean, it's a big job.
It's a lot of work and you're managing a lot of, you know, big scale writers and photographers and you're sort of, you're basically like a talent manager half the time.
And so, yeah, I was just, I was done.
Well, if you're of that world, it's very saddening.
You know, the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite helped set the agenda for American politics.
The good thing is that newspapers like the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal are as strong as they ever were.
And I don't know what this country would be like without them.
But the magazine business is, you know, it's a niche business now.
And young people will rediscover magazines in five years the way they rediscovered vinyl.
But they won't be getting magazines for information the way they subscribe to Time or Life magazine.
So the magazine business will never return to what it was.
But, you know, books seem to be very healthy.
