But all of a sudden with a group,
we actually seem to have made some some difference so i think that's really important with regard to you know jolly mont i think that you know we are all custodians of the game we only we only own it for a short time or we only have a part to play in it for a short time and it moves on to the next generation and i'm all in favor of that i think that you know game's got to keep evolving
But there is a part of it that is so unique.
Test cricket is one of the most unique sports in the world, if not the most unique.
There are not many games that go for five days.
There are not many games that go for six hours a day for five days.
There are not many games that go for five days and you don't get a result.
It's quite unique.
And I remember our eldest grandson, who's pretty much grown up now, he's a man.
But as a 10 or 11 year old, he said to me, oh, Gramps, he said, I'm sorry, he said, but I don't like cricket very much.
And I said, why don't you like cricket?
And actually I said to him, I said, how much cricket have you watched?
And he said, oh, not a lot.
And I said, well, what do you like?
I knew what he liked at that stage.
And he was into his chess and he said, oh, I like chess.
And I said, why do you like chess?
And he said, I like the fact that each piece has its own path to play.
You know, they've got their own role.
and it's in how you strategize and you use those pieces decides who wins the game and i said let's cricket that's test cricket you know everyone's got their role to play and how you strategize and how you use each of the skills of each individual decides whether you're likely to win win the match or not now he didn't become a cricketer um he did play some cricket but he got a totally different view of the game and
