And there seems to be more items and stuff based around coins, like this coin block being an example of that, or coin shell.

And there's way more coin blocks, actually, that you can hit in the levels. So I don't know. I thought they were going to break a little more down into that in this direct, and they didn't. But from my limited experience, I think coins are going to matter a bit more.

Like I was saying, in my limited time playing this, it, in all the right ways, felt like Mario Kart 8. The drifting felt very similar. Just the way the jump felt. All of that stuff felt like Mario Kart 8, which is perfect. There are the grinding on rails. There is now the charged super jump thing. That stuff is going to dramatically change shortcuts.

I do wonder if a couple years from now, we're going to have these maps memorized in our brains and just muscle memory as much as we have in the past. Or is because it's so free room, there's so many different options and mixes of the knockout tour.

Is it always just going to kind of feel like a fresh, almost procedurally generated type of situation? And I think then mechanically that might change how we play the game. You know what I mean? Like the way we're focusing on shortcuts might not be a, Oh, I know a shortcut is here. We, I need to save a mushroom. So I have the ability to make the jump in this specific place.

And it's more just like a, at any moment, I need to be prepared to be able to jump over anything. a chasm because you know okay i have enough speed to get over there if i try or whatever you get i'm saying like it's a a minor difference there but i do think it'll dramatically change like the gameplay or the the pro strats the meta if you will okay yeah But I think you're going to be fine.

Yeah, I think it'll be. I think you said this during the reaction, but like we know what this game is. I don't think there's going to be any major surprises mechanically or feature-wise. I think some things will be cool. Of course. There'll be secrets, but I feel like, yeah, this is an open-world Mario Kart, and this is what an open-world Mario Kart's going to look like.
