I think the opportunities I had, because tennis in Canada now is a big deal.
Back then, it wasn't a big deal.
There weren't any role models.
There weren't the opportunities that you could have.
I'd met my then wife as a ball girl who was my girlfriend.
I was living there part of the time.
So the opportunity arose to make myself and to have a better life and more opportunities.
So I decided for myself personally, professionally, it was a good option.
And I was never chosen.
I was always the one left on the sidelines because of my father's vision.
So I was always the one left out of the groups by Tennis Canada.
So I didn't feel like...
I had that thing where they decided to support me.
It was my parents doing it because of their vision.
There are so many factors in that as well.
And my life is here now.
I've got two kids, a wife, and I've been here, I think, over 30 years now.
