I'm a little nervous and here's why I'm nervous.
I think there'll come a time in the quarterfinals or the semifinals when they're down 2-1 to like Slovakia or Finland in the third period.
And the pressure of...
Oh my God, what if we don't play for gold?
And the pressure of, oh, my God, what if we don't get another shot at Canada might have them gripping their sticks and might have them flopping before playing in a medal game.
They're going to be messing up hotel rooms again?
I would.
I mean, the Kachuks are going to be there.
You know, there's a good chance of it happening.
So that's my concern.
Like, in all honesty, this is the deepest, most talented group of Americans we've ever put on a national hockey team.
They should play for gold.
And based on what we saw in Four Nations with a healthy Quinn Hughes, with more offense than they had in that game, Tate Thompson, a healthier Kachuk, they should beat Canada too.
Yeah, I'm with you.
And, you know, you're relying a lot, I think, on Eichel in this situation, who's been fantastic for Vegas this year and I think is going to be kind of the counterbalance to the way that Matthews sometimes can play in key situations.
Like, Eichel is a guy who rises to the occasion.
But there's not a lot of those guys on the roster, and I agree with you.
That's what makes me a little bit nervous.
I mean, you look over at Canada...
if their shoulders are slumping, they got Sidney Crosby in the room to be like, hey, boys, I've done this a few times.
