And even more so, why it has to be me?
I have to be massively successful.
I cannot tolerate losing.
Yeah.
And if you think about it too, like when you graduate college, for the people that do do that, you're following a very pre-described path for most of your life.
And then once you get to like 20 or 21 or whatever the age is that you get out of school, it's like choose your own adventure.
And I think for a lot of people that can feel very destabilizing.
So that's why I think a lot of people cling to these milestones like buying a house, getting married, having kids, retiring.
And when that becomes financially unavailable to people β
You know, what is what is there left?
And I think for a lot of people, that's that social currency that you can find online and the quote unquote being exceptional.
And I think prediction markets and sports gambling and all this stuff provides or seems to provide a pathway to do that.
It actually makes us feel more like Roman gladiator times, right?
It's just there for sport.
So...
What gambling does to our brain very much is like what exercise does or a good meal or seeing a great movie.
There's the anticipation of winning.
There's the excitement.
There's the hope.
And when you actually do win, your brain, it registers in your brain as a neurochemically exciting event.
