My parents decided to homeschool all of us, which was such an incredible decision.
We didn't grow up well.
with a huge amount of money at all and very much middle class.
There was a lot of things that we couldn't do due to finances, but mum and dad were so good to us.
They were the most incredible parents and they really wanted to teach us financial education and literacy.
Like, I feel... No, I think they didn't have...
good like experiences growing up as well.
I think they read books and stuff like that on how to, um, set us up for the future because they failed many times that they didn't want us to, to fail as well.
Um, I give so much of, yeah, so much kudos to them.
They're amazing.
But my dad at the age of seven, so I was seven, my eldest sister, so seven, nine and 11, and they decided to implement something called the pocket money system.
And this is what went viral and people all across the world are like, what the heck daily mail did a, um, an article like,
It was all across the world in the Middle East.
And people were just baffled at this.
And what it is, is it's a system where you give your child the ability to make decisions from a young age.
They have full control over their spending and their finances.
So we got given a certain amount of money, which back then it was $140 in 2007 per month, per month.
Per month, you know, equivalent to today's dollars is about $300-ish.
So they would give us that money per month.
We had to work for it.
