It feels a lot like, and I said this on my Instagram, it feels a lot like the women's marches in 2016 when Trump won, or I guess it would be 2017.
It was a lot of well-meaning white women who wanted to help, but because we are sort of in our own bubble,
and only see our own perspective, a lot of these people that were organizing these marches just assumed that there were no other organizations already existing who could have helped.
And so they created these big marches, didn't engage with people on the ground, specifically organizations that were led by Black women mostly,
just did their own thing, stepped on all these people's toes, and pissed off the organizers who already knew what they were doing and were doing it well.
And that's what this feels like to me.
It feels like a bunch of white people were like, yeah, this is what Cuba needs, and just decided to do this, and now it's like a PR nightmare.
