Yeah, absolutely.

And I really appreciate the idea that you're trying to make it as easy as possible for food to leave waste streams and to find a home somewhere.

And I guess I want to ask...

The Tools at Hand with Harrison Gardner

is there a danger of when when you give a path out of it obviously the problem is further back in the line that we're creating too much food we've built this system that there is all this surplus if it was more scarce we would we would not be so free with it right and is there a danger of enabling overproduction if we create these systems maybe that doesn't matter because in the end if it's not going to waste then that's a good thing do you know what i mean

Anaerobic digestion is turning the food waste into gas or capturing the gas that would be created from that food waste and then doing something useful with that gas.

yes yeah yeah i mean the the anaerobic digestion thing it sounds like a small thing you do with the last bit of food that's there but when you look at the world right now and the energy crisis that there is and and our energy sources and where all those things go from the fact that food waste can be turned into energy into a fuel that we use for different things it it's obviously a valuable resource as well it's not nothing

But talking to you and from what I've read about Food Cloud and learned about, it seems as much a relationship business.

The Tools at Hand with Harrison Gardner
Iseult Ward: Rescuing Food, Building Systems

You're building relationships.

Iseult Ward: Rescuing Food, Building Systems

You're connecting people.

You're this interlocutor between all these different pieces of a puzzle that needs to get put together.

Which of those, I guess, titles feels most apt to you and where do you spend your most time in it?

And they have thoughts and feelings about all this stuff they interact with as well.

So alongside this software that makes it accessible and easy for people to make this decision and donate this food and redirect it, there must be a physical side to it as well.

The food has to get from the shops to the charities or to the distribution centers.

And do you manage that side of it as well?

Yes, of course.
