Already.
His article was like, oh, well, somebody could just vibe code the next DoorDash and then all the dashers will check all the apps and blah, blah, blah.
The primary hard thing about DoorDash is not writing a crud app.
The hard part about DoorDash is the logistics network.
That's what's hard about DoorDash, right?
The hard part about DoorDash is the dispute resolution.
That's what's hard about DoorDash, is that somebody shows up at your house, the food is cold or they got the wrong food, who's right?
How do you decide this person should get a refund or this person should not?
How do you make sure the error rate is sufficiently low?
How do you make sure people trust that every time I order DoorDash, the right thing happens or I get my money back?
That is a really hard problem that has very little to do with software.
It has much more to do with just like how do you cultivate and run an effective business with contractors you keep track of and make sure that they're performing at a very high level, that they're well-trained, that they're getting the right feedback, that they're in the right place at the right time.
How do you make sure all the merchants are on there so that people can all find all the food at the right time?
All this stuff is much more about logistics and about reputation than it is just purely about software.
And so that's why there are a lot of competitors to DoorDash and new ones spin up every day, but they can't take a bite out of DoorDash's meal.
Well, so I used to work at Airbnb, so I know Airbnb very well.
There were a lot of Airbnb competitors.
So there's VRBO, there's, what's that one?
It's like HomeAway or something.
The hard part about Airbnb, same thing.
