a stark difference from the old food pyramid that was released in the 90s.
So if we could pull up that photo of the old one, it is pretty crazy to see the differences here.
You've got a ton of bread on the bottom, then comes fruits and vegetables, which is great, but meat takes a backseat to 11 servings of rice cereal pasta.
That's crazy.
And then at the top, fats were supposed to be very bad.
Fats were demonized.
I remember growing up, everything was no trans fat, no fat, low fat.
I grew up very much during the 90s diet culture fad where everything was zero calories, zero this, zero sugar, zero fat, everything.
I can't believe it's not butter.
And like, what the hell is even that?
It's less deep fried, but I feel like New York is best known for buffalo wings, pizza, bagels.
So...
We were eating good, but it wasn't good for you.
That's for sure.
But yeah, I mean, this is crazy that they were actually... The United States government was actually recommending 6 to 11 servings of bread, cereal, rice, and pasta per day.
Could you imagine trying to fit in that much shit in your day?
