Trader Joe's $3 tote bags are selling for up to $50,000 overseas.
So these Trader Joe's bags, they're kind of like the L.L.
Bean bag where it's a canvas tote with an embroidered logo on it.
They're being resold on eBay, Depop, and other secondhand markets for up to $50,000, some $10,000 and in between there.
That's not to say that people are buying them at $50,000, but people are listing them for $50,000.
But people might be buying them for $50.
That's crazy, right?
a canvas Trader Joe's tote bag for 50 bucks.
So apparently these are being seen on the streets.
All the fashionistas are wearing Trader Joe's bags in London, in Tokyo, Melbourne, because no Trader Joe's exists there.
So it's become this status symbol.
Like I've been to the United States and I have been to a Trader Joe's, therefore I'm better than you.
And all I wanna say on this is, this is proof of American exceptionalism.
Can you think of a foreign brand that we would wear here that we can't get here?
No, because we can get everything here.
We live in the United States.
I cannot think of a brand in any European country that I would see someone wearing that and think, oh, that's so cool.
That is so rare.
I gotta have it and I can't have it.
You just wouldn't see this.
