But you can't have unelected officials voting on matters before.
Yeah, because it's a principled issue.
It's a principled issue that unelected officials should not be able to vote on committees.
That's the starting point.
Now, there's been some egregious cases, as you know, and that's what we're trying to fix up.

So every time, how it works is, you know, you have an idea, you discuss it as you have a policy, you create a first reading for a bill, it goes into a first reading, goes out to the public for six months, typically, comes back for another second reading, has a bit of a discussion, then it's finalised for a third reading, then it becomes law.
So that's the process often when people say, why does it take so long?
Well, that's why, to make changes.
Every time you go into those debating chambers in the Parliament for the first, second and third reading,
He just goes through clause by clause.
It doesn't matter which piece of legislation it is.
He's got a comment or a view on it from the Green Party.
And you should watch him if you get bored.
Watch him at 9, 10 o'clock at night.
I don't think the rest of the Greens bother showing up because he just handles everything.
