For seven of the past eight years, NRL officials were stunned when they were told in September that their application to participate in this year's had been denied.

Why?

Well, the rejection came weeks.

See, they don't respect.

No.

There's no respect.

And I think they offered to open up the respect round to the pride, as you just pointed out, but that wasn't good enough.

It wasn't good enough.

They wanted the bannering the other way around.

Respect inside pride.

Now, the rejection came weeks after, obviously, the Seagulls players refused to play against the Roosters.

Well, some did, yeah.

Yeah, true.

Everyone in League initiative, which involved rainbow piping on the jumper, et cetera.

Now, organisers claim the NRL was snubbed because it was insufficiently gay or creative, claiming there was simply no room owing to the high demand.

Now, meaning high demand for spots in the parade.

I think it was one of the biggest parades in history, wasn't it?
