And at the moment, this situation is it's not going away anytime soon.
So they really need in their next round of supports to make sure that those supports are targeted because people are being left behind.
It depends on the current situation, on the economic situation.
And so an increase in that isn't appropriate in this moment.
But to be clear, we're in favour of a carbon tax and the crucial importance of moving away from our reliance on fossil fuels.
And I don't think that's ever been more clear.
What we also think, though, is that all of the money collected from the carbon tax should be ring fenced for climate action measures.
That isn't currently the situation.
So at the outset, I'd like to say that the Social Democrats are in favour of modern methods of construction and adopting those to supercharge the delivery of affordable and social homes in this country.
And that includes modular homes.
We actually think that the state should acquire modular homes factories to supercharge the delivery of social affordable homes.
We are in favour also of the use of modular homes in people's gardens for what they're calling intergenerational movement.
That is what the housing minister set out clearly when this project was in its infancy.
Or you're living in your childhood bedroom and you simply can't go on anymore or your parents can't or you're living with them to move in there.
What we are not in favour of.
Is these units being used in the private rental market with absolutely no protection for renters?
Because when you think about how renters are being treated in this country at the moment, they have very little protections.
What has the government done in response to this?
They are introducing...
A new system whereby you could have even more substandard accommodation with zero protections for renters.
