That is not a government that is coming up with solutions to a housing crisis.
That is a government that has run out of ideas in terms of how to address this.
The repercussions of this could be multifold.
I think the first thing to highlight is the protection of renters and how this just leaves them even more open to exploitation.
And that is crucial.
There's also the situation of services.
We know in many parts of this country, planning permission can't be granted, for example, because there isn't enough access to water services, to sewerage, all of those things.
And they're talking about an unregulated system.
insertion of all of these new units into all of these services this has not been thought through in terms of fire safety in terms of all of these things and i have to say i understand why people feel frustrated with the planning process when it's slow when it's sluggish when it's not efficient enough and we're in a housing disaster but the answer is not to scrap planning regulations because that protects all of us and it helps but they still have to they still have to meet building regulations
Speed up the planning process.

And they still claim they have all the answers.
They say that, but we haven't even seen those regulations yet and they're already rolling it out.
So let's get real.
