I said, I'm pregnant.
So no, I'm not going to take the job.
Right.
So it wasn't, and there was another opportunity that came along the next time I was pregnant.
Clearly things happen at the same time.
When I did the other way and I didn't say no, I said, yes, but you need to know I'm pregnant.
And funnily the phone never rang after that.
But it is interesting because I think I underestimated myself and what I was capable of in terms of balancing work and family, which I had to do anyway, as I say.
But in the scheme of things, I don't regret it.
You know what I don't want?
Because she was like, I don't want to be answering emails at 4am like this other senior staffer that I know.
I don't want to be doing that.

I think I always say to people when they ask for career advice, not that they should ask me necessarily, but my career has changed a lot in the last few years.
And part of it was about asking yourself a question of what you wanted your life to look like, which is the same thing that you're saying, really.
You're like saying, I don't want my life to look like this where everything is just about this.
And then I think that that can help you put the pieces in place.
But it's very hard to say no to what looks like a really good opportunity.
Yeah.
It's hard to say no full stop, which we've talked about a lot.
