It wasn't like, oh, sure, it was only the Challenge Cup.

Well, no, sorry, it is.
It's quite a place for me because we got knocked out of the Champions Cup that year, dropped into the Challenge, and it was a unique season that year because we ended up having five home games in a row, which you never usually get.
It was just the way the league worked.
and the draw that we got in the Challenge Cup.
When you dropped down from the Champions Cup back then, you actually got the home fixtures, whereas now when that happens, you get the away fixtures.
bloody hell he's really pulling the strings here I remember Christian Wade scored an unbelievable try I haven't thought about that game in a while sorry to cut across it I was in their old stadium and then off the back of beating them we then got the home semi home final I think we played Biarritz and Stade along the way but yeah I have such fond memories of that you know because because I was starting in them versus some of the Champions Cup they gave Johnny the week off
Well, it's a bit of that, all right.
But some of the Champions Cup wins that I have, yeah, look, I was in the 23, but you haven't contributed to it as much as, let's say, some of the URC medals that I have that I certainly look back on very fondly.
I know when Bristol won the Challenge Cup, I didn't play in the final games.
I'd moved to Ulster at that stage, but I played the Challenge Cup games earlier in the season.
That was the year of COVID, but...
It was a real stepping stone for Bristol, you know, because they'd gone from playing in the Championship to then into the Premiership, competing in the Challenge Cup.
And then they went on and won that.
And they now view themselves as a genuine Champions Cup side.
And they are.
Sure, they've made the last 16 again and will be competing at the top end of the Premiership.
