They talk on a daily basis.
So in terms of that, I reckon Jez would try and scrape another year or two out if he could because it gives him the opportunity to play one of his best mates.
But it's a fascinating situation when you think the captain of a club, Kate, and the heart and soul of GWS and will go down as possibly their greatest player is contemplating a move.
Well, you talk about the writing on the wall.
I think once they traded out those players, it made it really difficult for him to put his best foot forward.
And you saw that Vossi got them to a prelim final and they were playing great football.
But I sort of have a different view with a lot of people coming out and saying, well, you should have just got rid of him at the end of last year.
I reckon they understood where the list was at.
And then understanding there's going to be a lot of growing pains, there's going to be a lot of turnover over the next few years, that if we can stretch this out another 12 months, then it gives the new coach 12 months down the track.
And you can see that Colton were trying to change the way they were playing and they're trying to get more kickers into the team and they're trying to change their running style and patterns and how they play the game.
And I think they were hoping that it just worked out a little bit better than what it has, unfortunately for all parties.
But I couldn't congratulate Michael Voss more on how he has handled the situation.
And he's been brilliant.
And my respect for him only goes up.
Well, Graeme Wright's strength is list management, and he did a brilliant job at Hawthorne, and he did probably an even better job at Collingwood with moving on Treloar and Grundy and being able to save the salary cap and do some different moves and different things than employing Craig McRae.
But it's interesting because if you trade out a Cripps and a Wiedering, then you're less likely to get
established talent back through the door because they're going to understand that you've taken everything out of the side then and Sam Walsh is possibly the only one left and if you go to the draft then you're waiting four, five, six, seven years for these players to genuinely develop and word on the street is it isn't probably the strongest draft this year either and then Tassie are going to come in and they're going to have all the picks so I think free agency is going to be a big player for them and they're going to have to be very strategic with how they go about it in terms of the players they would let go.
Who's a footy hit?
