An organisation actually that was started by two former Food Cloud employees called Positive Carbon work in the hospitality sector and they have technology that can support the reduction of food waste.
And in kitchens.
So given the complexity of the problem and the fact that it's happening across the supply chain, it's important that we have many different solutions.
Some are focused on prevention, some are focused on redistribution, some are focused on, you know, even anaerobic digestion.
Like it's not ideal, but if it is destined for waste, anaerobic digestion is a lot better than landfill.
So it is important that we see that there is need for many different types of solutions, but that we always try and optimize and prevention is ultimately where we should end up.
Yeah, so using that as energy.
So it's not, again, prevention is better, feeding people is better, composting is better, but anaerobic digestion is then better than landfill.
And it is kind of like being aware of that, the kind of food waste pyramid and knowing at what stage we should be aiming for it.
Absolutely.
And a lot of the food out of the 8-10% global greenhouse gas emissions that are created, a portion of that food is inedible anyway and wouldn't be fit for redistribution.
So having those other solutions in place is important.
That's an interesting question.
It's all part of it.
So the technology, we developed our own bespoke technology that enables businesses to very easily donate their food to communities.
It allows them to trace the food, which is really important for food safety.
It allows them to make the interaction between them and the local community seamless so they can notify the community, the community partner can accept it or reject it.
And it's really kind of streamlining that process.
But at the end of the day, it's the human connection that happens at the very end that makes it possible.
possible and sustains it.
