We actually made very clear what our red lines were.
We also made clear, Brett, that we actually would be very happy.
The president of the United States has said he would be very happy if Iran was treated like a normal country, if it had a normal economy, if its people were able to prosper and thrive.
Well, good morning, everybody.
And let me say a couple of notes of appreciation, first of all.
We have not reached an agreement.
And I think that's bad news for Iran much more than it's bad news for the United States of America.
So we go back to the United States having not come to an agreement.
We've made very clear what our red lines are, what things we're willing to accommodate them on and what things we're not willing to accommodate them on.
Vance says he was in contact with President Donald Trump multiple times through the negotiations.
We've had a number of substantive discussions with the Iranians.
That's the good news.
The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement.
And I think that's bad news for Iran much more than it's bad news for the United States of America.
He was saying he wanted to boost the economy.
He wanted to reintroduce rule of law, the independence of the judiciary.
He wanted to repair failing public services, restore decent health care, restore standards of living, lower cost of living as well.
The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement.
And I think that's bad news for Iran much more than it's bad news for the United States of America.
