Everybody knows you got to play 65 to hit the threshold.

Lakers have five games remaining.

There is an exception for players who reach 62 games and play at least 85% of their team's games at the time of the season ending injury.

but that would not apply to Luka.

He's played in 64 of the Lakers' 77 games, which is 83%.

And if it's considered a season-ending injury, it means he can't play before...

May 31st or something like that.

So I was like, I didn't even know there was a loophole to the loophole.

But that's what you find out when a guy gets hurt this late in the season and the games played requirement is a thing.

And you said already he missed four games earlier this season with that pesky left hamstring injury.

He missed one game with a left finger sprain.

He missed five games with a lower left leg contusion.

Two more games due to personal reasons.

One game to a sore left groin.

And then one game he missed due to a cumulative technical fouls.

Oof.

That would have been game 65 if that were not to have happened.
