Seahawks receiver Jackson Smith and Jake was signed a four-year, $168 million contract extension.
$120 of that guaranteed.
$42 million a year average.
Over $2 million more per year than Jamar Chase for the highest ever for a wide receiver.
That's new money average.
So if you look at the average with the current contract that he has, it's obviously not $42 million.
But it takes away some of the risks.
The risk now goes to the club.
So if he gets hurt, he has a ton of money that's going to be guaranteed to him, which, I mean, that's kind of the yin and the yang of a player, right?
Okay, do you take a contract now?
and it may not be as much money as what it could be a couple years from now, but if you do that, then the risk of injury is in your court.
