This draft class is loaded with inside linebacker, off-ball linebacker types, and there's a feel or a sense, okay, second or third round, we might be able to get a comparable replacement.
You may never get anyone that can come down with the five interceptions and the splash plays that he delivered this year.
But in terms of that position and maybe wanting more in the run game, more as a pass rusher, more big plays, yeah, you're always hopeful that you can get more than that, even though Devin Lloyd delivered in 2025.
100%.
I would agree with that.
Look, I can't imagine him having a better year than he had this year.
The amount of big plays, tiny on-the-spot plays that he made,
I can't imagine him replicating that all over again.
And sometimes it is better to move on from a player a year too early than a year too late.
This might be the Jaguars moving on knowing, hey, he may continue to play well for the next year or two, but we're okay with that because we feel like we got the best that we could get out of him.
Yeah, now there's a difference now because if you ask them old school running backs, you ask Fred Taylor, he'll tell you there's a difference in the top ten pick and one of them third rounders you're throwing out there.
But I do understand your sentiment.
You can find guys in this system that can give you the production that you're looking for.
I mean, but and and traditionally, I would say the sweet spot for running backs is the second round.
If you go back and look at history, there are a bunch of good running back that were selected in that round.
And the Jaguars should have an eye on some of the guys in this class that could be available there, like Jadarian Price from Chicago.
Notre Dame, Emmitt Johnson from Nebraska, Mike Washington from Arkansas.
There will be some guys that will be of interest to the Jaguars on day two in that sweet spot where you talk about value and production kind of matching up.
I think that's a big part of their team building strategy, right?
I think there are a few things they're playing.
