It was that dugout got fired up.

It was like they knew in that moment your young second-year catcher lays out extra effort play.

You get out of the inning.

You give that exact play.

To every other team in baseball, in Arlington, against the Rangers, in the eighth inning.

Would you go as far to say that maybe other than the Tigers, because they're not playing much better right now, they win that game?

Would you go as far to say that you get that moment where the Rangers go, man, they were right there to tie the game, and a catcher, which you just rarely see, lay out full extension and catch that, and they're fired up?

And this has always been a little bit of my issue with Lucas Ersig.

And I do believe that he is a fine reliever.

He's in a really bad stretch.

But when he's going well, we've seen him.

Look very effective.

I mean, we're two years removed from him shutting down game one and game two in Baltimore of the wildcard series in front of a sold out crowd at Camden Yards and just ice in his veins.
