Do people report going to a common place? Where are they physically? I've encountered patterns within submissions to my show, weirdly enough. Have you noticed any patterns of them going to a physical place?

Sure, absolutely. I've encountered some people reporting going to this like expansive field and reporting seeing tents and like all these people kind of milling about. That's something that's kind of come up multiple times, which is weird because from people who don't know each other.

You just brought up something that reminded me of another topic I want to talk to you about. This is very important, I think. In your book and in a lot of your work, you make a distinction between the mind and the brain. Can you explain that distinction? I think this is really helpful for me in understanding all of these topics.

It's so interesting to me because, you know, something that I think about a lot with NDEs is if you were to take a classical skeptical stance on this, purely evolutionary, I wonder how and why we could have ever evolved to have such a feature of evolution.

of life especially when it only occurs at death you if it was purely survival of the fittest like how could we have possibly evolved to do that when you're dying when it takes place right like you couldn't well you know i started off as a very skeptical materialist and i did give a lot of thought to this and there are a couple of answers to that

That's interesting, and it answers the why, I guess, but not quite the how. Right. Unless, of course, you consider that the mind and consciousness could be external, right? Which I think that's the compelling idea in all of this, right? Right. Consciousness, your consciousness, was somewhere before and can go somewhere else after is external, right?

It's funny with this stuff. I encounter a lot like people will hear something like this and be like, oh, that sounds exactly like every New Age book I've ever heard. It's just people regurgitating New Age theories or like religious beliefs. It's frustrating for me because I'm always like, well, what if it's completely the opposite?
