But Paul was an amazing person to learn from.
It was just like that.
I was like a sponge.
I just wanted to learn as much as I could.
can you come in on Tuesday we need you I said I'm sorry what because can you come in on Tuesday we want to train you on radio one and we need somebody to write the scripts I just said absolutely and the rest was history oh my god I love it yeah but I think I think before we move on I think it's really important like I know not everyone who listens to this podcast is in their 20s but some people are and I think that that's a really important thing to to get through is that like
you know, if you have that hunger, don't be afraid to engage it.
Because as Jackie says, every conversation that you have with someone is building a relationship and every little piece of work that you do.
Like I worked with some people in 2FM who, you know, Carl Mullen is a great example of this.
I've said it before.
Like Carl Mullen obviously has done so well and he presents The Breakfast Show in 2FM now.
When I, in my early days of my time in 2FM, I just remember Carl being, I wasn't sure what his job was, but he did everything.
He was out doing Vox Pops.
He was doing silly things that were embarrassing.
He was doing like, you know, he was giving people a dig out of whatever they needed.
He just had such a great attitude and that hunger and like, look at him now, you know?
And I just really think that's a, that's a really good thing to kind of get across is that,
you know, you do, if you keep your ears open, if you volunteer to do the extras, it can really pay off.
And it's okay to do it.
