because it sounds like there's a microphone in a scene with actors that's supposed to play out in real time and then it'll just like stop for a description and then you get description and then like a sound effect and then it sort of restarts and it takes a while to get used to that it's very unique if you've never heard an immersive audiobook like this one do you know what i mean
The first couple chapters of the first book, I think they put particular attention to the sound design because they're like the most immaculate out of all of them.
And I know what soundscape chapter you're talking about where the narration is just describing Vernon Dursley's day.
And then you just hear him.
He gets in the car and then you hear the opening of a car door and then him driving through traffic.
You can hear the cars beep, beep, beep all around.
And then, you know,
All throughout, you hear Vernon like, you know, grunting and huffing and puffing because you know he's there.
Otherwise, how would you know that he's there, right?
Yes.
Which is like, there's a lot of laughing and grunting and sighing and just like nonverbal human noises like it's anime.
Like Draco.
Dude, but it's super whimsical, you know, like all the laughing and huffing and puffing.
It's kind of funny.
It plays into the whimsical style of Harry Potter, especially in the first couple of books.
Draco and his goons, Crabbe and Goyle, laughing derisively like 50% of their screen time.
And it's annoying and kind of hilarious at the same time.
The way you know they enter the room is because they're already cackling.
I'm looking forward to scenes already.
Right now, the fifth book isn't out yet, but Keira Knightley is playing Professor Umbridge.
