I'm here to talk about Steve Harris, Iron Maiden's bass player.
And in addition to inventing his own style of bass playing that has been aped by tons of heavy metal bass guitarists over the years,
Steve Harris, bass player for Iron Maiden, was also scouted as a kid by legendary footballer Wally St.
Pierre and signed to West Ham United, signed into their youth program anyways.
Now, Steve Harris, unlike Rod Stewart, he actually did get the call.
And he chose to play rock and roll instead.
Still supports West Ham United to this day.
Pretty cool.
All right.
Number three.
This is the one I really want to talk about.
1996.
Great year.
So-called swaggiest game of soccer ever was played in East London at a charity event during the height of...
of Britpop and more specifically during the height of the Oasis blur battle for Britpop supremacy.
They literally called it the battle of Britpop.
We'll get into the mechanics of all that, what that was in the exclusive section of this after party and more into the Oasis and blur rivalry than we're going to do right here.

That conversation is coming up later, but back to this one right here.
