Well, when you're 19 years old, people think that you don't know much about what you're talking about.

I didn't even have a website at this point.

I didn't have a Facebook fan page.

I didn't have anything.

All I did is I thought I had this really good idea that everyone wanted to know about.

And the book was about dropping out of college, backpacking around the world to find myself, self-discovery journey.

And...

I started going to publishers.

I actually took eight by 11 pieces of paper and we'll call them dream house as the name of the publisher.

And I took, I am, I am published by dream house.

I wrote this on, on probably 300 pieces of paper and taped them all over my walls.

This is a,

really big publishing company.

And then I'm somehow magically found my way to the founder's house through, through hustle.

And they denied me.

I had to pull them all off my wall and face the reality that I had to self publish.

Cause they said, you know, go out and sell 10,000 copies and then a publisher will pick you up.

So that's what I had to do.
