The building is managed by the Oakview Group, and they've got a responsibility to get events and programming in that building, and they were doing what they needed to do.
But unfortunately, with some scheduling issues, the
The home ice was not going to be available.
So the way it sits right now is we will be playing our first two games of this round at Kansas City in the home ice with the home bowl with fans in attendance.
Then we'll go down to Allen, which is outside of Dallas, one of our rivals, for the next three games.
If it's anything like Tahoe, we shouldn't need all three of those, but you don't want to be...
Unfortunately, if we come home for games six and seven, it just couldn't be averted.
We're hoping we don't have to play those games, but they will unfortunately have to be played on the community ice if they are even necessary, which we're hoping they're not.
But the really good news is the city of Independence, the Oakview group,
Everybody, they stood up, they knew, they heard the fans.
And because of all of the attention, we were able to reach an agreement where what was programmed for the building has been canceled.
And so all of the games of round three and any subsequent games will be played in the bowl in front of fans.
We were not going to be able to have any of our round three games in the main bowl, and we would not be able to have fans.
And it's important to note, it's not that there won't be any spaces for people.
The team has spent days trying to figure out a way to fairly allow people to attend the game, and there's just no way to do it on the community ice that wouldn't leave people out.
