much like it was perhaps for Manchester United fans in the 70s and 80s when it was the highlight to try and put a spanner in the works at Liverpool.
I think Manchester United go up East Lancs Road on Sunday afternoon expecting or hoping to do the same again, bearing in mind, of course, Oli's prevailed and persevered over a couple of draws at Old Trafford, but has never managed for any club at Anfield.
So an exciting weekend, but I think United fans are probably prepared to be watching it through their hands rather than, you know,
confidently hoping for three points.
Yeah, I mean, I think, you know, I mentioned Sir Alex Ferguson when they're talking about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and kind of the way he thinks.
And I think, you know, if Sir Alex had a game like this, would have played mind games with us because I think he knew what was important and who was important to him amongst his personnel.
I think there's no doubting that
Right now, Marcus Rashford is probably United's hottest player, arguably perhaps their only world-class player at the moment on form.
He said, look, we'll give him 48 hours, and I think we always thought that would be the situation.
He did the same with Harry Maguire, and that came off.
He also said, look, if you ask me now, I'd say probably not that he'd play on Sunday.
And again, you just wonder whether that is a little war of words, a little mind games, just perhaps trying to lull Liverpool into some sort of false sense of security.
But I think
On the other side of things, there's just a real hope that Rashid can be there.
I think the fear is if he's rushed along, breaks down playing Liverpool, then maybe you miss him for some more important games, arguably more winnable games, when you're trying to get to top four in the Premier League.
So a lot to think about.
But I think given it's Liverpool, given it's a statement, given it's the game that Manchester United fans want to win most and don't want to lose most, they probably hope.
that Marcus Rashford is going to be there.
But I think a lot of work to make sure that happens.
Yeah, on the captaincy front, I think it's been confirmed this morning that Harry Maguire will be Manchester United's permanent captain.
