Iran holds all the cards, sadly, because of this trade of Hormuz, because of oil, because of the asymmetric advantage they have.
For years.
They knew.
They knew it was coming.

Forget whether β obviously it's a bad thing for a radical regime to have a nuclear weapon.
But it's totally rational for Iran to want a nuclear weapon.
The reason why we haven't sought regime change in North Korea, one word, nukes.
They want to be left alone?
Most countries want nukes because they want defensive capability.
India wanted nukes because Pakistan had them.
Pakistan wanted them because India wanted them.
North Korea wanted them because we had them.
China wanted them because we had them.
Israel wanted them because Iran was trying to get them.
And so this is the idea of mutually assured destruction, right?
Textbook 101 foreign policy is if your neighbor who's pissed at you just buys an AR-15, that 38 special isn't looking too defensive anymore.
Right.
You're going to get an AR-15 and then you guys are matched.
