And that's totally rational.
If there was a military alliance, not called NATO, but let's just say it was called Taco Bell and was based in South America, Central America, and it worked its way up to β
The Mexico border and China's part of it and Venezuela's part of it and all these countries that have animosity toward the United States as part of this new military defense alliance.
Again, it's not called NATO.
It's called taco.
OK.
And now all of a sudden they just add a new country called Mexico.
And now the military alliance that's led by China is right on our border.
What do you think we would do?
Exactly right.
The same thing we would do.
And so just as Ukraine, as we kept expanding our borders with NATO, kept pushing, pushing further east, remember what they said in the 90s, not one inch more from Germany.
NATO as a defensive organization made sense, and the Soviet Union fell, and then they lost the plot and said we have to expand even more.
And what that did was it turned it into an offensive organization.
And if you're Russia and you see all these people that line up and say that you are the number one geopolitical threat, something that Republicans and Democrats had agreed on for years, and then you have a military alliance going up to your border β
Yes, it makes sense to do what Russia did.
Does it justify it?
No.
Does it make it humane?
Absolutely not.
