Look, I think Governor DeSantis is a great governor.

I don't want to quarterback individual decisions, but that decision was disastrous.

It would have been egregious enough to sign a bill as unconstitutional.

as restricting criticism of Israel, which is what the anti-Semitism bill did.

But to add salt in the wound, you flew, you kissed the wall, and you signed it over there.

That's nuts.

It's crazy.

It's absolutely insane.

And it gets to the heart of something that I think Republicans...

have to acknowledge that free speech doesn't just apply to our own.

It also applies to the other side.

It applies to every single person.

You know, if that had happened and that those police had come to that woman's door because she had gone to a school board meeting and criticized them for being too woke, you can bet that every single Republican in Florida would have called them out for it.

Not a single Tallahassee Republican has commented on that.

I actually called that woman and I said, you're a Democrat.

I'm a Republican.

We probably don't agree on much, but I want to let you know I will always defend your free speech rights if elected the 47th governor of Florida, because if we don't have free speech and open debate, we do not have America as we know it.
