So penalties for murder in the first degree also include life without parole, life with possibility of parole after 20 years, or a definite term of 50 years with a possibility of parole after 20 has been served. So that's all on the table. Now Matt Lean has pled not guilty to first degree murder with use of a deadly weapon. His attorney said, I talked to James and his mother and they're relieved.
