So I really believe that marriage is about trying to use a technology to protect something
that can't really be protected.
I love that we try to do it, because it's like a prayer.
It's like a fervent, frightened prayer from a child.
Like, please, let this last forever.
It feels so good.
Let it last forever.
What a beautiful thing to make someone feel that way.
That's why I still love weddings.
Love weddings.
Because there's something about people standing up and going,
I found my person.
This person makes me so happy.
I just want to tell all of you how happy this person makes me.
And I want all the people we know and love in this room who are part of this, who helped make us, and you helped make this person I like more than the other 8 billion I've ever met.
And I want to thank all of you for being here, and I'm going to serve you a cake.
Want to do the chicken dance?
Dude, sign me up.
This is the greatest thing in the world.
Like, if the first time everybody you love in your life is in one room is your funeral, you're an idiot.
